Getting to know me.. Liebster award...

So Charlene at Tartanmouth nominated me for a Liebster award.... YAY... but I didn't really know what one was... after a bit of Googling (what would we do without it!) I found out...

"The Liebster Award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers.... The meaning: Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome"

I don't do my blog for the followers, of which I have about 20, I do it for the therapy it gives me as a hobby, because I really love all things beauty (that's why I work in it!).

A lot of people had said "Oh Hannah why don't you get a blog, you would be great, you are always doing so much!" So after a lot of persuading I finally got one!

So lets get to know me, Just Hannah...

1. What do you think is the hardest thing about blogging?

I think I find finding the confidence to actually post pretty hard. I keep think what I'm writing is pants and know one will read it! Also I find learning the blogging ropes pretty hard like networking to increasing my followers but I think i'm getting the hang of it albeit very slowly!

2. Who was your embarrassing teenage crush?

Hmmm I can't think, I always loved Bradley from S Club 7 and I also loved Matt from Busted. I suppose they aren't really THAT embarrassing!

3. If you could change something about your past, would you?

Nope, not at all! the only thing would be letting my grandparents live longer to see me grow up into a 'lady' and to see what I have achieved.

4. Which three celebrities (dead or alive) would you like to go on a night out with?

Freddie Mercury because I love Queen's music,
Rochelle from The Saturdays because I think she is super cool and pretty,
Zac Efron so I can have a little boggie with him!

5. What's something that you wish you were better at?

I wish I had more confidence and that I believed in my self more. Also I'm Dyslexic so I really wish I was better at spelling as I feel it holds me back.

6. What's your favourite meal to cook?

I LOVE cooking and baking so anything really! if I had to chose it would be a chicken stir fry with home made egg fried rice and for pudding home made profiteroles! mmmmm!

7. What are the qualities you look for in a friend?

Kindness,
Fun,
Easy to talk to,
Someone I can be my true self around and that loves me for who I am.

8. What  would be your ideal job?

To be fair being a Beauty therapist is what I have wanted to be forever but never believed I could do it, but I have!
I'm now a senior therapist so maybe one day I will make my way up to a manager.
When I was little I always wanted to be a pop star or be on stage in a musical... I don't no where it came from because I cant sing or dance!

9. If you had to wear the same outfit every day, what would you pick?

Probs a simple pair of  skinny jeans and a top and a snuggle cardi and my converses!
 #Boring!

10. What is your favourite Disney film?

This Is so hard as I LOVE DISNEY... Probs will have to be The Lion King or Cinderella or Mary Poppins!

11. Would you rather go on a city break or a beach holiday?

This is also hard, I love both but if I had to choose I would pick hmmmm a city break as there will be a lot more to see and do. Plus I love just wandering round taking photos!

So it's done! Thank you to Charlene again!

It's Thursday Tip Time...

So on this grey, wet and windy Thursday if you are feeling run down and tired or starting to feel a bit poorly I have a small treasure of information for you...

Have you ever had a SALT BATH

To be honest when I first heard this I thought 'yeah right, a bit of salt won't help me' but I have been proved wrong, for the first time in my life might I add ;) All you need to do is add a couple of handfuls of Dead Sea bath salts like these ones below to your bath and lye back and relax for atleast 20 min (not hard at all!)

While you lye there your body will be absorbing important minerals like magnesium, bromide and sulphur. Tiredness, illness and stress can sometimes be caused or made worst by a mineral inbalanced in the body, plus things like eczema and psoriasis too. All these things can be improved by the glorious salt bath!

If you don't believe me, TRY IT! I feel much more energized and healthy once having one, plus my skin feels so so soft! I'm not saying it will solve all your problems but it will help!!

I love Dead Sea Spa Magiks Salts! Buy Dead Sea Salts here !!

Benefit...It's Potent Eye Cream...

Since I was ill before Christmas with tonsillitis and glandular fever I have noticed my eyes being really heavy, puffy and had such dark circles especially when I wake up. I was using an eye cream before but not noticing much difference but then I remembered I had a mini version of Benefit's It's Potent Eye Cream that I had bought in a minis set before Christmas! So I cracked it open and started to use every morning and night.

Benefit say ..."Your eyes can't keep a secret...they're the first to show signs of age & stress" and mine really do, I was so stressed towards the end of last year and that's probably why I got ill so now its time to chill out a bit!

The eye cream really cool feeling on your skin and has a light texture. You only need a tiny amount so the pot will last for ages. My eyes instantly feel hydrated and a lot brighter once I have used It's Potent. At the moment I still have dark circles but I have noticed them being less obvious since I have been using this product which I am really pleased with! I team it with Benefits Erase Paste to cover the darkenss up!

I will keep you posted with how I'm getting on with It's Potent...

I Heart London...Brick Lane

On Sunday myself and Russ went up to Brick Lane in London. We are so lucky to only live under an hour-ish train ride away from London so we like to visit fairly often! I love the buzz of the city and there is so much to do up there (so much is free too)!

I had been recommended to go to Brick Lane last year by a friend who said I would love it but we always found other things to do and the idea fell by the way side. This Sunday we didn't have any plans so Russ suggested to have a wander in London and Brick Lane sprang straight to mind!

So off we trotted, it was a grey and rainy day but we were wrapped up and prepared. I'm not keen on rain at all, my 2nd to worst weather type (1st being snow!).

Once we were up in London we took the district line to Aldgate East and after a few wrong turns/wrong direction (lol) we found it! The market itself was under cover and in lots of different areas, which I was SO happy about because of the rain #hairproblems!

The 1st part of the market was buzzing, full of people and amazing food stalls. There was very kind of food imaginable, Chinese, Mexican, Greek, Dim Sum, Spanish, Caribbean, Italian I could go on and on... The colours and smells were amazing.

Towards the back of the 1st 'Hall' was a lot of clothes and jewellery (that kinda thing) it was a bit less busy here which I found nice as crowds can get to me! I spent a few minuets ooooo-ing and awwww-ing at every stall! A lot of the stalls were all in different places it was like a little 'rat run' with stalls hiding every where, there were lots of very vintage and arty kinda stuff, all so interesting and beautiful.

On the walk to the next 'hall' we saw some amazing graffiti. The time it must take people to create such amazing and detailed works of art is unbelievable!

Most of the Halls were pretty similar but still I loved looking around and also people watching the amazing kinds of different people there!

We had a lovely Chinese for lunch, rice, noddle's, salt and pepper chicken and honey chicken it was delicious and only £5 a pop! Also we bought some divine chocolate brownies (my fave) and some super rich millionaires shortbread (my 2nd fave)!  I didn't buy any other bits, nothing jumped straight out at me saying 'Buy me, BUY ME!!' (how restraint was I?!) but it was such a chilled nice day wandering around! We would defo visit again on a Sunday and I can imagine it being even more enjoyable when the weather is better.

I will fill you in on the next Hussell adventures soon! Hussell is our couple nickname made up by my AMAZING best buddy Kerry, I will tell you about her another time!

Bye for now

My 1st Hair Tutorial...

I'm a very simple kinda girl so don't worry my tutorials will not be complex in the slightest!

Up turned hair tutorial

This is such a quick, easy and pretty way of putting your hair up! It works best with mid length hair, I did it when my hair was longer but it didn't look as good so now I have had my hair trimmed I can do it again!

Here goes...

Start with your hair with a slight curl. It also works great with day old hair. Below is all you need!

Place your stretchy hair band over your hair.

Start at one side by your ear and tuck the ends under the hair band and secure with a pin. Then do the same on the other side.

Work your way around tucking and pinning the rest of your hair up.

Check in a mirror that there are no stray bits hanging out, if there are don't worry just pop more pins in!

Check from the front that the side bits are even and your fringe is how you like it and spray all over with hair spray.

And your done!

It can take a matter of minutes depending on how neat and messy you want it! I find if you want it a 'messier' look or to look like something you just thrown together it's harder which is a slight contradiction!

I love it and hope you do too plus it's nice to get a sparkly hair band out!

A Visit to Wahaca...

Myself and Russ had never been to Wahaca before but always wanted too. We visited the one in Bluewater shopping centre in Kent last week. The restaurant itself looks majorly cool, some of the tables were in VW camper vans!!! We had a normal table (bad times!) once we were seated we started to look at the menu. The food is all Mexican street food, you can get small plates to share of tapas style food or larger plates. We were spoilt for choice and didn't know what to pick! We ended up going for he Wahaca Selection as we figured it will give us a taste of everything!

We started with some amazing guacamole with some chips, it's was so fresh tasting and went down VERY WELL!

When our food arrived it look amazing, the presentation was great. The chicken taquitos, quesadilla, green rice and black beans where mega yummy and full of flavour, and omg the sweet potatoes were melt in your mouth yummy! We both loved pulled pork so were looking forward to the pulled pork tacos but we both found them very sweet tasting and rather spicy too!

I think next time we visit Wahaca we will know what to expect and what we know we like. We were looking at the menu debating what we would order next! So will defo visit again soon!

We ended our visit to Bluewater with a pit-stop at Millie's cookies, the new red velvet cookies are amazing! We had them once we got home with a yummy hot chocolate!

Hope your have had an exciting weekend!

So a Fringe it is...

So I was getting fed of my hair, I was ment to be getting it cut before christmas but I was poorly with tonsillitis :( My hair was getting sooooo long and out of shape so I took full advantage if feeling worlds better this week and had a trim!

I had an inch or so off the ends and an slight layer cut back in too. Then I took the plunge and got a heavish full fringe cut in!! I have had one before a few times but I was still a little nervous! I love it! It will take a few days to get use to and I can still clip it back if I'm feeling lazy or have a busy day at work!

I will probs grow it out again to a side fringe at the end of spring-time, I just feel a side fringe is more manageable in the summer what which pretty plaits etc! But at the mo I love it!

Hope your all having a fun weekend!
