April Favorites

Another month has gone by and I'm actually early for my April Favorites! woohoo!!

LOreal Paris Skin Perfection Day Moisturiser-
I have been wanted to try this for a while and when I finally used up all my many other moisturisers I ran out to buy it! I love how light and silky it feels on my skin, and since using it I have noticed my skin feeling a lot smoother. I like to use this every morning under make up and I use it at night when I want a light night cream. I'm not too keen on scent but the 50ml pot has been lasting me ages.

Make Up Revolution Radiant Light- Breathe

Since seeing Miss Budget Beauty rave about this I needed it in my life! It is such a nice and natural creamy gold highlight. I use it over my cheek bones and dust it over my forehead, down my nose and chin. You can really use the colour all over the face to be honest as it isn't too shimmery. It is so nice and smooth doesn't have chunky glitter in it. I love the packaging it is superb for the price and feels a lot more expensive than it is.

LOreal Paris Infallible Matte Foundation

I am so pleased with this drugstore foundation! I apply it with my Real Techniques buffing brush and with one layer it gives me good coverage, if I layer another on the areas I need it (chin, apples of my cheeks and nose) it looks even better. It is a high coverage foundation but it feels pretty light weight on my skin. I don't think it lasts quite 24 hours matte free but it does a pretty good job for last all day at work. I would defo recommend for you oily skin girls!

Bourjois Colorband 2-in-1-Eyeshadow and Liner

I really didn't need to buy these as I have quite a few of these type products already but hey I still bought them! I was attracted to the bronze on first, 02 Brun and I LOVE IT! It is perfect for spring and summer. It has a lovely light shimmer in it and the copperey colour is so easy to wear in the day time. The other colour I bought was 04 rose which is really pretty mixed with a goldey one I have from another brand. They feel so soft and light on your eyes and is so easy to use.

My random favorite is these very very cute Disney Tsum Tsums!!!
I first saw these on  Tartanmouth instagram and i knew me and Russ had to start collecting them!!

Hero's Under £5

We all love a bargain don't we? And with life getting more and more expensive with grown up things like cars, deposits for houses and of course the odd holiday every so often, we all have to cut back on somethings. In this post I have narrowed down my make up hero's that are £5 and under.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer- £4.19

This one is an obvious choice and a blogger favorite but for just over 4 pound it is an absolute bargain. It is one of the best concealers that I have used and the coverage is unbelievable. I find it brightening under the eye and has enough staying power to cover those pesty spots all day long.

NYC Liquid Eye Liner- £2.49

I have a love/hate relationship with liquid eyeliner, mainly due to my attempts at winged eyeliner in the pass but I have fallen head over heels in love with this one. Mainly because of the brush, it is super thin and so easy to control. It lines my eyes brilliantly and I find the wings of my eyeliner (when i'm in that kinda mood) always fly high! I find the staying power good and it removes effortlessly with a micellar water.

SEVENTEEN Brow Sculpting Pencil- £2.89

This brow pencil has the right amount of wax and power mixture going on. The colour is great too and as you can see form the photo I have used it a lot. It is a quick and easy way to fill in your brows and has pretty good staying power for £2.89.

NYC Cosmetics Single Eye Shadows- £5.00

I normally find these babies in a cheapy make up shop in town, they normally cost me about £1.99 I think. I couldn't find a link to cheapy ones but still full price they are £5.00! YAY! My friend Hannah recommended me these and I have never looked back. The quality and pigment of the colour is AMAZING for the price. They blend super well and the choice of colours is slightly overwhelming! I will defo be picking up some more to add to my collection.

Make Up Revolution Lip Lava- £2.99

I had wanted these for ages and I finally was tempted to make an online order! I was so pleased I did as these did not disappoint. I have them in 2 colours (and think I need the whole collection), I have the mid pink and the bright orange. I haven't worn the orange as yet and I'm waiting for sunnier weather but the pink is amazing! I love the way they apply and last pretty well, even better on silky smooth lips (mine have been SO dry at the mo!). I love the packaging, you would not think they only cost £2.99.

MUA Single Blushers- £1.00

A Blusher for a pound I had to give this a go and WOW I'm so glad I did! The pigment of them is amazing, if you can be a bit heavy handed (like me!) then make sure you tap, tap that brush before you apply! The colour I have is Lolly, a coral-y, pink and I really like it! I will defo be re-purchasing more of these and for £1 why not get the whole set!

March Favourites

Dead Sea Spa Magik Mild Exfoliant

I just love how quick and easy this is to use in the shower. The sand partials polish away dead skin perfectly and leave my skin super soft, clean and feeling rejuvenated. I use this about twice a week, or as and when my skin needs it. My make up apples much smother and nicer once using this exfoliant. I love the easy to use tube, no faff with opening a jar or anything!

Make Up Revolution All Day and Night Liner in Channeling My Inner
This has been my go to eyeliner ever since I got it in mid-March. First off it was super cheap (about £2 I think), it's so soft to apply to the eye (my eyes are major sensitive too), it has great pay off showing a lovely deep bronze colour and finally the staying power! It's great!

Lush Mask of Magnaminty

I recived this mask for my birthday at the beginning of March and have used it every week since. After using it my skin feels so deeply cleansed (but in a gentle way!), so fresh and my blemishes have definitely improved. Luckily enough I recived two tubs which I am majorly happy with as it will remain in my skin care routine for a long time.

Rimmel Clear Complexion Powder

I have been using this powder for a few months now and it's now my holy grail. It's not to cakey or heavy and sets my make up really well. I use it's with my RealTechniques powder brush (funny that!) on my t-zone, it doesn't add colour just powders the skin. The price is fab too, I think I may need to repurchase another one to keep in my handbag!

Top of the Top Coat

When I visited Professional Beauty, a spa and all things beauty trade show I was on the look out for a new top coat (amongst other things of course) when I saw the Seche Vite top coat I knew I needed it. After hearing lots of people recommend it as there holy grail top coat I needed to give it a try.... And you know what it's mine too.

What I hate about painting my nails is I can do it perfectly and not smudge them HORRAY!! But then I go to sleep, when I wake up without a doubt I get a horrid fabric/duvet print on them. I was sceptical about this not happening with the Seche Vite one but to my surprise it didn't!! They stayed super shiney, almost a gel like shine for a good few days until they started to chip.

The top coat applied really well and in a pretty thin layer. My nails didn't feel thick or heavy at all. It dried so fast which helps with you are a smudger!

If you are on the look out for a new top coat I urge you to try out Seche Vite although on the more expensive side of nail polishes I defiantly think it's worth a punt!

Have you tried Seche Vite?

February Favourites

I'm a little late on the favourite front this month but I wanted to keep these posts up so here goes.

Micellar Water-
I use this to remove my eye make up and I love how simple and easy to use it is. My eye make up removes with no effort at all (thumbs up big time!).

Nuxes Reve de Mile- I love the rich, thick texture of this and it feels like it's gonna really do something when I have dry lips. It packs a punch and after one night of wear my lips are back to normal.

Beneifit Hervana- I am on a spending band on Blushers at the mo as I seem to have so many! I rediscovered this one, I love the blue, pink and purple tones and it's simple enough to use daily for work.

Beneifit Rollar Lash- If you haven't heard about this you have been living under a rock! Free with Elle magazine every girl had to have it. I love it! I find it really easy to use and have been reaching for this mascara over my other ones this month. When my stash is running low I will definitely debate buying the full size.

Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion
This is an old fave but I always come back to it. It is so easy to use so no risk a of a streaky tan, plus it's buildable so it doesn't look like you have been to Jamaica for 2 weeks over night! Perfect for this time of year!

Hannah Bakes- Mum's Victoria Sponge

Since taking this cake into work (as it is my birthday on Monday) I have had so many compliments on how yummy it is. I have decided to share it with you guys! Also why do you have to bring cakes in on your birthday? Shouldn't you be treated with cake!? But anyway here's the recipe...

It is my Mum recipe so I have decided to call it Mum's Victoria Sponge

6oz of self rasing flour
6oz of marg
6oz of caster sugar
3 eggs
1 tea spoon of baking power
2 round cake tins

- Cream together the marg and sugar with a electric hand mixer.
- Add the eggs a little bit at a time with a spoon full of flour and mix.
- Add the rest of the flour and baking power, a bit at a time until smooth and creamy.
- Half the mixture between the two cake tins.
- Bake for about 25mins on 180 degrees. Until fork comes out clean.

Buttercream

2oz of marg
6ozish of icing sugar
A few grips of vanilla essence

- Soften the marg with a fork and add the icing sugar a bit at a time.
- Add in the vanilla essence and a tiny bit of cold water if needed to soften it.

Spread the butter cream on one half of the sponge and some strawberry jam on the other, sandwich together and dust with icing sugar.

I hope you like this recipe! It goes down very well with my lot!

January Favourites

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub
It's not very often I find a scrub I will love enough to use regularly but this one I have. It has been part of my bath/shower routine pretty much all month.  I love the limey, fresh scent as it really smells good enough to eat! It is also a great scrub, it feel harsh enough to get that last bit of fake tan off but not so harsh that it stings. I find it great to use on damp skin so it is quick and easy to do.

Revlon Colourburst Balm Stain in 001 Honey
Essie Button mentioned this in her 2014 favourites and I had to buy it! It is the most simplest and wearable lip colour I must have, it is now my go to lip colour for work and more or less every other day! A handbag staple!

Clinique High Impact Mascara
After trying lots of other cheaper mascara last year discovered I had two mini sizes of this! I always use to buy this one full size and once I started using it again and I instantly fell back in love! It gives great volume and length to my lashes and is easy to use and mess free. It removes so well too and the brush is so soft on my sensitive eyes.

Spa Find ReMineralize Plus High Strength Body Balm
I have started to try and get into the routine of applying a body balm/butter before I go to bed. This balm is lovely and rich and thick, it rubs in well to the skin and leaves it feeling soft and so smooth the next moring. The fragrance is beautiful, not to over powering like some body butters are, it is fruity and fresh, just my kinda fragrance. I find it particulary good on drier areas like elbows, knees and legs.

Yankee Candle Tarts
Since getting my burner and a whole host of candle tarts for Christmas I have been burning it nearly non stop. I have a cherry one buring at the moment and I love the rich scent. I am looking forward to burning this vanilla honey one next.
