Top of the Top Coat

When I visited Professional Beauty, a spa and all things beauty trade show I was on the look out for a new top coat (amongst other things of course) when I saw the Seche Vite top coat I knew I needed it. After hearing lots of people recommend it as there holy grail top coat I needed to give it a try.... And you know what it's mine too.

What I hate about painting my nails is I can do it perfectly and not smudge them HORRAY!! But then I go to sleep, when I wake up without a doubt I get a horrid fabric/duvet print on them. I was sceptical about this not happening with the Seche Vite one but to my surprise it didn't!! They stayed super shiney, almost a gel like shine for a good few days until they started to chip.

The top coat applied really well and in a pretty thin layer. My nails didn't feel thick or heavy at all. It dried so fast which helps with you are a smudger!

If you are on the look out for a new top coat I urge you to try out Seche Vite although on the more expensive side of nail polishes I defiantly think it's worth a punt!

Have you tried Seche Vite?

That's A Wrap...

A quick little post today!

I bought these nail wraps from Avon recently as they were half price (I can't for the life remember how much I paid!), I love a nail wrap me!

My faves being Minx as they have the prettiest patterns but these are great to do at home yourself! To be honest these were so easy I did them in about 15 mins!

Just cut and prep your nails, choose the closest size of wrap to your nail and stick on and stretch. If it's a little too big I push down the sides so it leaves a mark and then I trim it to size with little nail scissors. I find the smaller toes more faffy but still it's worth it as wraps normally last about 4-6 weeks on me!

I really love the bright pastel colours of these leopard print ones! I would defo recommend trying wraps for a change to polish!

Have you use wraps before? Did you do them yourself or in a salon?

Bye for now

G is for Gel nails...

There is nothing better than perfectly painted nails...the one thing that bugs me is when they chip *sad face*  most of you have probably tried gels before, I love them for many reasons!

As a beauty therapist  I can't really have normal nail polish on as the constant use of oil, water and products it remove it and it doesn't last 5 mins!

Gels are fabulous..

...They stay beautifully shinny and neat

...They last for ages

...They dry straight away so know awkward waving around to dry!

These are my current gels that I had done today by the lovely Rebecca, OPI Gel Colour in Strawberry Margarita!

It took me forever to decide on the colour, this ones quite a summery colour but hey the sun has been out, all be it on and off for the past couple of days, it's my birthday so why not!

I love OPI gels they are my faves they are easy to apply as the therapist, they are long lasting and once removed professionally they leave the nails in a good condition.

I have hear a lot if people slag off gels for ruining their nails. In my opinion as long as they are removed properly they will be ok.  They might be a little drier and weaker but once filed down a bit and  nourished with some oil I find them ok. Some people have gels 24-7 but I like to have a set every month or so, partly for my nail condition, partly it's getting time at work and partly I like them to be for a special occasion like time off, holidays and birthdays! I tend not to wear polish too much despite my massive collection (I have SO many, more on that another day) as I basicly have to take it off after a day or so for work!

I use Gellux gel nails for family and friends at home as it's cheaper than OPI. There are so many colours to choose from and I really enjoy doing friends nails and having a gossip!

Do you have gels regularly or do you prefer polish?
