Latest in Beauty Box- The Glamour Beauty Edit

I have been meaning to post this for a couple of weeks but I never got round to taking the pics, but today, a lazy sunday finally find time!

As a new-ish beauty blogger you would probably be shocked to know that I do not have a beauty box subscription! Oh boy I wish I did I would LOVE beauty goodies dropped on my door mat every month, but one reason and aother I have never took the plunge to do it (I'm meant to be saving, house, wedding and possible holidays!). But when I saw the Latest In Beauty Glamour Beauty Edit crop up on Instagram and Bloglovin I knew I had to have it. One thing I like about it is I know mostly, apart from colours what I'm gonna get, thats the control freak in me I suppose. I will defo be looking our for more of there lovely boxes!

Heres what I got, plus a mini (i mean mini, tiny) review on what I think so far!

Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan BB Skin Perfector
Jezze what a long name for a fake tan! I have not tried this yet but it looks easy to use. It will be good for a quick fix tanning product and I will probably use on my very pale legs! I like the fact it is wash off so will be good for a day/night out.

Velvotan The Original Tanning Mitt
I am a fan of fake tan mitts the are a great way to apply fake tan, they save your from orange palms and streaky tans. I will use this one with the Rimmel Tan above as i have a stack of dirty fake bake mitts tha need a good wash!

Hawaiian Tropic Stain Proctection Ultra Radiance Sun Lotion spf30
This will be perfect for my city break to Barcalona in September! Nice pretty packaging and a super nice holiday scent.

Toni and Guy Volume Plumping Whip
This is just the product for me e the mo as I'm feeling my hair is a little thin and limp, I will def be trying this asap and let you all know what I think of it.

Crabtree and Evelyn Nail Lacquer
Who knew Crabtree and Evelyn did nail polish? I recived the bright red, which is great for all year round and on my next free days off I will try it. I might have prefer the light pink as it's a bit more wearable for my work.

DHC Deep Cleasning Oil
This is one of the reason why boughts this box, i have been wanting to try an oil cleaser for a while. I have used a couple of times and I'm pleased with it. Full review to come.

Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick
I have been on the look out for a new nude lipstick for a while and being SO indecisive I can never choose when I'm shopping so end up leaving the shop empty handed! I'm made up with the colour I recived it's called rosepout, it's not too pale and it's not too dark and it feel super soft and silky on my lips, result!

Magnifibers Brush-on False Lashes
I'm not a fan of false eye lashes they are just too delicate and fussy for me to put on! These may be the answer but i'm not holding my breath as the reviews i have seen don't seem that great!

You might have noticed one thing missing...as I have been sooooo impressed by the following blusher it seems to have already sneaked pride of place in my muji draw.

Bourjour Cream Blush 01
I do not normally get on with cream products with my oily skin but this my friends... is amazing. The colour is so nice not uber bright and it's so wearable for work. Full review to come.

Have you bought the Glamour Beauty Edit?
What Beauty Box subscribtion do you have?

The Reading Habits Tag

I normaly only read books when I go on holiday but as I'm not going on a summery beach holiday this year I have decided to pick up a book any way, Then something suddenly occurred to me... Why don't I read more often? So now I'm reading at every possible opportunity, which is maybe why I havn't posted in like a week! Any way back to the post! I saw Along Came Kelly had posted this tag and I thought why not lose my blog tag virginity and do it! So thank you Kelly! I use to skim past tag posts on my bloglovin feed but now I always pop in up say hi! So look out for a few more to come I think they are really fun posts to do... So here you go...

1. Do you have a certain place at home where you read?

Not really normally in bed or  sitting my on bed, on the sofa or in the garden! As long as I'm comfy I don't mind!

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?

I normally turn the corner of the page down (naughty I know!) or I just use a receipt or something to had.

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter or a certain number of pages?

I like to stop at the end of a chapter. But if when I flick through the end of it is like 10 pages away I tend to find suitable place to stop if you get me. Like the end of a paragraph or when the 'scene' changes!

4. Do you eat or drink when reading?
A cuppa tea or hot chocolate or a glass of squash is the norm. Nibbling chocolate always helps too!

5. Do you watch TV or listen to music whilst reading?
I like it to be silence as I find it hard to concentrate if there is lots of background noise like a tv or music.

6. One book at a time or several at once?

One at a time, I easily get confused and mixed up!

7. Reading at home or everywhere?

Normally at home or when I'm on holiday I CANNOT stop reading!!! If I got a train or bus to work I would defo read on the way, but I drive.

8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?

In my head, who reads out loud to themselves?

9. Do you read head or skip pages?

Hmmm it's so tempting to read ahead but I 9 out of 10 times never do! Sometimes I skim down the page if it's getting really exciting and I can't wait to read what happens! but I always try and stop myself

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it new?

I normally break the spine by mistake! :O

11. Do you write in your books?

No... who does?!

12. What are you currently reading?

My fave author is Paige Toon and I'm reading her new book called Thirteen Weddings, which I'm loving! I did a post earlier in the year all about her books

What are your fave type of books to ready? I love chic-lit
Do you do tag post often? what have been your fave ones?

Bye for now

MUA Matte Perfect Primer- Review

Make Up Academy Matte Perfect Primer

Everyone loves a good dupe don't they? A high street, purse friendly, copy cat of the high end must have everyone lusts over! Well i'm not saying this is a perfect dupe but it does a pretty good job!

I have used a few MUA products before (their power highligter is a fave) and i have been really impressed with the quality for the bargain price, i mean lipstick for a pound are they kidding?! When I saw this primer the other week I put it in my basket without even thinking... i was running out of Porefessional and I was up for a cheaper alternative and at £4 it certainly is.

MUA claim

"...it will matitfy complexion and provide the perfect base for foundation"

I agree with this to an extent, after a applying a small amount to my t-zone I leave it to sink in for a min or two, then i go ahead and apply my foundation. My foundation goes on really well when I use this primer, it seems to sit on my skin really nicely. During my day, normally at work my skin have been looking less shiny and my make up seem to have stayed put a lot better.

The problem with my skin is that it is so temperamental! At the moment its horrible and spotty :( so i have stopped using this primer to see if it clears up, it may just be coincidence though. During the summer my skin gets more oily and I feel my pores look horrid and large, the primer did a really good job of 'filling them in'. It also says you can wear this primer alone... if i was one of the perfect skin girls i would (lucky things) but i am defiantly not one of them!

Colour of the Primer

The colour and texture is really similar to Benefit's Porefessional and that is what draw me in to it straight away. The packaging is not as pretty but for £4 I would give that up!

All in all i would recommend this as a cheaper alternative to Porefessional, hopefully my skin will calm down and improve so i can get back to using it!

Have you used this product?
what other Primers do you recommend?

London Tripping- Once The Musical

London Tripping, when i decided on this post name during the train ride to London i thought "Oh Jeez i better not trip over" but hey what paranoid twenty something wouldn't? and for your information I did trip down a curb!

On our week off we had arranged to stay at Russ' nans in London for a few days. We visited a couple of really interesting museums and we took her to see Once the musical... which was amazing!

I manged to pick up some bargain tickets for it on lastminute.com and we had fab seats in the stalls, I think I only paid about £25 each! What I loved first off was the fact you could go up on stage before it started and during the interval as they were serve drinks from the set, what was funny enough a bar! During this time some actors came on the stage for a bit of a 'jamming session' then without us noticing the show had started! It was an incredible start to the show!

I didn't really know much about the story until I googled it just before I bought the tickets! I won't spoil it for you but it's set in Ireland, boy meets girl, he's a singer...!!

What was amazing about it is every actor on stage plays a musical instrument, from guitars to accordions it was truly a spectacle you need to see! Even though all the songs are original and don't know the words they are so catchy and beautiful and I found myself humming along to them, for the rest of the day!

Do you like seeing shows? Have you seen Once?

Face Mask #003

This could possibly be my favourite face mask ever...

Dead Sea Spa Magik are the high street sister brand of my beloved Spa Find Skincare, you can buy these in shops like Holland and Barrett and even some Tesco's. The idea of the products are the same, they are jam packed with minerals to help improve all skin conditions.

The mask is descibed as "Detoxifying peel off facial mask to dramatically improve skin texture, leaving it feeling soft, refreshed and youthful"

The pack contains one use, it contains a sachet of power that you mix with water and a spatula for you to mix with. As soon as you mix the mask apply it to your skin straight away. It is best I find, to wipe over the skin with some toner on cotton wool just to make sure all product is removed from the skin, the mask goes on so much better. You will find the mask is pretty cold when you apply it to the skin and has a seaside-y smell (nice?!), this is all the magical marine algi in it. The first few times you use this mask it is quite tricky to apply, I like to start on the fore head and work down, or of you have a handy assistant like a mum or sister or friend try lying down and they apply it for you. I also find if you use a little less water it has a thicker consistency and therefore easier to apply.

After being on for 20ish minutes the mask would have set onto your face so all you need to do is gently loosen the edges and peel off in one! I love the feeling of removing this mask, it feels like your skin is being reborn! I love the way my skin looks and feels after using it. It feels so much brighter and more refreshed. It also feels pumped up and tighter, in a good, toned way!

Have your tried this mask? Or any other Dead Sea Spa Magik Products?

Empties #002

Sorry for the lack of post my lovelies, time has just run away from me and I couldn't find the time to get round to blog :( do you ever find you have all the ideas for post but not enough time to write them? I have a week off now so hopefully time to catch up and get organised!

Anyway back to the empties! Here is what I have used up recently...

Spa Find Heavenly Hydration Foot Cream- (This is actually the old packaging it's in a nicer light blue tube now!) This time of year foot cream always come out of the cupboard, I suppose they should be used all the time but I think everyone gets paranoid about the dreaded crusty feet in flip flop look and desperately rushes out to buy some foot cream! I quite like this foot cream, it keeps my feet nice and soft, I use foot creams mostly at night as I hate the slippy feeling you get with some, but this one drys to a matte kinda finish so know need to worry about that!

Fake Bake Bronzy Babe Bronzer- It feels like this bronzer has taken years to use up, which is a good thing might I add! I have bought this Fake Bake bronzer a few times mainly from beauty trade shows as I think it retails at about £15 and I think that is pretty pricey for a standard bronzer! What I love about it is the colour, I find it to be a really nice colour that isn't too dark.

Clinique Anti-blemish Foundation 01- This is my holy grail foundation and to be honest I'm to scared to try anything else! The colour is perfect for me and that's the thing I struggle with as I'm normally soooo pale! Even with tan on I shove some more bronzer on. The coverage is good over any blemishes plus it's build-able. After applying with my buffing buff I set with Soap and Glory's One Heck Of Blott and I really find I stay matte free for a very good while. I seem to work in the hottest place alive and since using with the power it really stays on and I don't look like a shinny beacon! Even though it's £24 I think it is defo worth it if you have an oily/ blemish prone skin, I LOVE IT!

Spa Find Exquisite Eyes Cooling Eye Cleanser-  I seem to have used up a lot of eye cleansers recently, I think I am wanting to be kind to my eye lashes! The Spa Find Eye Cleanser is pretty good stuff, it takes off eye make up but I find mascara quite stubborn to remove with it but it could just be the mascara I am using at the mo. It has a lovely kind of citrus-y smell which is also kind to your eyes!

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash- This shower gel was never ending! First off I love the packaging it's just so cool! It was a standard shower gel and foamed up really well but the smell was just really strange! I don't really know how to describe it, if you have used it you will understand... it wasn't a cleaning product lemon smell it just had a hint of lemon... it was strange, I wasn't that keen on it at all!

Clinique Take The Day Off Eye Make Up Remover- This is one of the best eye make up removers I have used, I love it! It literally dissolves your eye make up in a few seconds, know need for lots of rubbing. It is pretty pricey for an eye make up remover but I do buy if I want to splash out or I need to get a skincare product to receive the Clinique bonus! I use it more when I am wearing a lot if eye make up or have been on a night out and feeling lazy.

Hope you enjoyed this post, what have you been using up recently?
