So we are off...

This time tomorrow I will be in New York!! I have been looking forward to this for ages and it's finally here! I'm armed with a packed case, nicely manicured nails and a pretty long shopping list!

For the next week or so I will be a bit quite here in the blogger-sphere, you can still catch up with my goings on with my Instagram, but I'm not going to be posting everything we do, I like to think we are on holiday so therefore away from it all, just the two of us :)

When we are back I will be blogging all about it! Filling you all in on what we did and what we bought! Plus I will share some of our very many (I expect!) photos, we both get sooo snap happy!  I like to read blog posts about peoples travels tso I am really looking forward to writing them!

Anyway hope you all have a fun week and happy blogging, I look forward to catching up on all your posts when I'm back!

Bye for now!

April New York Wish List

I always seem to do these posts at the end of a month! I suppose I spend the month umming and awwing about everything then finally get round to posting!

This month is my NYC wish list! It seems like only feels like yesterday we booked it and now it's less than a week to go! Last time I went to New York was about 4 years ago and I felt the pressure of being in the shopping capital of the world was huge! I didn't really do my research and I found myself standing in Macys and thinking...

"What do I want?"
"I need to buy something, I'm in New York!"

I came away with a few lovely bits but now being old and more aware of things plus being a beauty blogger I have a 'vague list'. I really don't want to set my heart on something and not being able to find it so I'm going with some ideas of things and hopefully will be more surprised with what I get!

Converses- On my days off I almost live in these! I only have one pair so I'm on the look out for some uber cool ones!

Clinique- You can get a really good deal on Clinique products out there and as my fave foundation is a Clinique one I will probably pick up a couple of bottles to stock up... Plus a chubby stick or two... maybe a blusher!

Benefit- One of my fave brands, I have seen some really good gift sets online in Sephora so I will be defo picking up one or two bits!

MAC- I reeeaaaallllyyyyy wanna get a few Mac lip sticks, I don't have any MAC products to everyone's dismay. I find it quite daulting being in the MAC shop/counter plus I have been holding till I go to NY as it's a bit cheaper out there! I might look at one of their foundations too...! What's your best pick for a more oily skin?

Tiffany's- I will defo need to take a 'look' in there!

A 'nice' handbag- I'm not thinking Mulberry even though my heart says YES! But I'm looking out for a Michael Kors or DKNY one, that sort of thing.

I will probs bit up lots of other bits along the way!

I'm open to ideas so if you have a fave MAC lipstick you think I will like or any other NY shopping must have do please comment below!

Bye for now

A Thought On A Thursday #001...

Just a quick little one today.

My best friend Kerry is an absolute star and this quote makes me think of her.

We use to work together and saw each other nearly every day, since leaving that job two years a go we were both worried our friendship would fall by the way side but we have stayed solid and firm friends, maybe even better friends!

We make sure we text more or less every day even if nothing much has happened it's just so nice to pick up my phone and see a smiley text from her just checking in. We are there for each other in every respect, for advice, a giggle, important decsions and random funny memories of which we have SO MANY. We meet up every few weeks when we can, luckily our boyfriends get on so we make an effort to go out for food or stay in and play a board game!

Friendship is a two way street, it takes both party's to make the effort, it's like a love relationship I suppose. Lives get busy, clogged up with lots of stuff but you need to make time for your friends. In good and bad times your friends will be there and help you through. If they are any good and your treat them right they will stick around for you. Never take them for granted.

Happy Thursday

Face Mask #001

I know when my skin needs a face mask it seems to feel clogged up, I get those annoying little under the skin spots and my make up never goes on right! Action needed! So tonight as we speak I'm sporting a very attractive face mask, I personally love clay based face masks I LOVE the tightening feeling like it is really working and the thicker the better!

I ALWAYS ALWAYS scrub my skin before using a mask.  You want to work on fresh new skin so having a quick scrub beforehand works wonders. I love Spa Find Sea Sand Scrub as it is quick easy and feels like it's working. You can mix it with a creamy cleanser or use with water and what's great about it is the fact you can make it as coarse as you like. Use more cleanser/water if you have a sensitive skin or less cleanser/water if you wanted a deeper cleanse. You only need a pea size amount so one pot lasts you ages! It's fab as you can use it on your body and feet as well! I like to use this about once  a week.

My mask of choice today is another Spa Find Fave! It's their Balanced Beauty Stabilizing Mud Mask. After patting on some of my Spa Find Calmit Extract (another fave) I applied this mask with my fingers all over my face. I find it so deep cleansing and brightening, my skin feel refreshed, cleaner and my blemishes seem reduced after using.

Both this and the Sea Sand Scrub come in lovely glass pots that look very high end on you bathroom shelves but not at the high end prices! This mud mask is £18 and the scrub is £16.50!

I have quite a few masks to use at the mo so look out for the reviews! I got some samples of the GlamGo masks which I'm quite excited to use!  What are you go to masks??

Catch you later

This Sunday #005

As I have said before Sundays are made for baking! This week I made some amazing Creme Egg Brownies!

Oh
My
God
They are SO yummy!!

Brownies are possibly my favourite of all cakes/baked goods that's if I was forced to pick! I just love the chocolately, chewy, goooey, stodgy, richness of them *dreamy*

Here's the link to the recipe I used to make these amazing creations yourself!

This afternoon we also took a trip down to one of our favourite National Trust Propriety Sissinghurst Castle. It was so bright and sunny we had a lovey wander around the gardens and a ice cream! Russ was snapping away but to my dismay my iphone was FULL UP with photos after I took just one! I did have over 2000 on there :O so when we got home I had a MEGA clear out of them!

Here are a few of Russ's photos!

Hope you all had a good weekend!

Happy Baking and Happy Sunday!

Pretty Little Pots...

So on my 1st shopping trip after my spending ban I didn't go toooooo crazy!! I picked up a few bits in Primark and Boots for my forth coming holiday and these beauty's...

I couldnt resist these bright and pretty picnic cups I picked up in BHS! I love BHS home stuff and me and Russ have got some great buys from there for our bottom draw. These were in the sale and only £8!

I knew they would be great for storing those little beauty bits you need close to hand like Kirby grips, cotton buds and cotton wool!  I had been looking for something like this for a while since I got my acrylic muji storage for my birthday.

How do you sort your beauty bits?

Fine One One...

Benefit's packaging get me every single time and this products is know expection! Pink and oh so shiney!! I bought Fine One One a while before my blogging adventures began and while I normal flick between blushers recently I have been coming back to this beauty! This is partly as I'm on my spending ban and I want something 'new' and also as I'm lusting after the No7 Pop and Glow cream blushers  but actually now I have re-discovered this do I actually need them?! (This spending ban is working!) Anyway onwards...

It's a great dual purpose product, for mainly cheeks but also lips! It contains three bright and beautiful colours, pink champagne, sheer watermelon and soft coral and it's SO easy to use! Just swipe the product from the apple of your cheek to your temple and blend up in circular motions, it's great as it's also buildable.  If you are wanting to use this as a lip product I would apply with a brush to the area.

It highlights and lifts your cheeks with a lovely flash of colour! I was worried that the cream blush would be too much for my oily skin but I really like it!

With my New York trip not long to go I am researching my purchases! I want to pick up a few more Benefit products as they are pretty cheap out there!

What Benefit products you you swear by?
Do you have a fave power blusher? I LOVE CORALISTIC!!

Please let me know your recommendations!

Bye for now

L is for Lip's...

Here is the letter L in my A-Z of beauty series of posts.

I hate it when my lips get dry, sore and flakey, it happens mostly in the winter, when I have a cold. Also when I'm nervous or anxious, I keep licking my lips! I tell myself not to do it and I know the next day they will feel yucky and horrible but still I do! It must be one of my querks!

I use these products to keep them in tip toe condition and to resuce them when they are in need...

Lush has a FAB sugar lip scrub called.... and I use this in the morning and evening when my lips are feeling bad. Just press your finger tip into it and rub along your lips, the sugar is rough enough to do the job but it's not too harsh that it hurts. You can then dissolve the sugar and your done!

At night I regularly use Dead Sea Spa
Magik's Skin Softener on my lips. It's great for all kinds of dry or irritated skin, I swear by this product! Just a tiny weeny amont over your lips and your all set and I defo notice a huge difference in the morning my lips feel so soft! It's also fab for burns, scares and dry chapped heels!

I dare you to try Skin Doftener instead of Vaseline!? You won't go back I promise!!

I sweep of my fave lip crayon and I'm done and ready to go! I think lip products apply and sit so much better on your lips if they are in good condition! I hate it when my lip product gets clogged up on the dry skin and it looks horrid!

What's your face lip product out there?

Face of the day #001

So here is my face of the day, I haven't done one of these kind of posts as I usually stick to more a less the same style of make up for my working week but I feel they are a good way to showcase some of your favourite products and techniques that you have mastered !!

2nd April FOTD
I started with my base after using Spa Find's Perfect Purity moisturiser. It's a great base for make up but I tend to swap between moisturisers at the mo.

I used Benefits porefessional on my open pored areas like chin, nose and cheeks. I'm flicking between foundations at the mo as well but today I went back to my old fave Clinquic anti-blemish solutions foundation. Since getting my real techniques brushes for my birthday I have been using the buffing brush to apply my foundation and I really like the finish.

I love the tiny Porefessional!
I normally tint my eyebrows anyway as they are ridiculously light compared to my hair colour but I have a few gaps in them so I lightly pencil them in with just a normally eye brow pencil (I really wanna get the Soap And Glory one!).

Around my birthday I also bought Benefit's Gimme Brow, it's a great thickening product and defines my brows even more so. I apply it against the hair growth then I brush it back through. I try not to use too much product as I don't want then too over dramatic and so far so good, I really like this product.

Im a sucker for pretty packaging and Benefit gets me every time!

For bronzer I'm currently using up an old Fake Bake one. It has lasted FOREVER! It has great pigment and colour.

I also used today one of my current favourite products. Revlon's Rose Glow Highlighting Palette, isn't it beautiful?! I use it as a shimmy blusher, it's great if you don't fancy a pink or coral colour as it's a mix of them all! I sweep it over my cheek bones, its great as its' so buildable. I used this when I had a fake tan and its looked even better! I had so many complements that mt skin looked great!

So Sparkly!

For my eyes today I used Maybeline's gel eyeliner with my fave new tool! The Real Techniques Silicon Liner!

I bought the gel eyeliner ages ago and used it once and I hated it and then forgot about it! I couldn't get the right line it was always too thick! When I was doing my real technique brushes research I saw this 'brush' (not really a brush but hey!) and I knew I needed to try it. I was OK at eye liner before some days better than others and I had tried lots of different ones like felt tip pen ones and  all kinds of liquid ones. Once I bought this 'brush' I used it as soon as I got home and I fell in love! It's great and sooooo easy to use. I get the perfect line (nearly) every time and even perfected my flicks and wings! I really recommend this 'brush'!

I CANNOT live without this brush now!

On my lashes I used Clinique's High Impact mascara, it is also one of my faves!
Like every beauty blogger around I have on my lips bi have one of .... Revlon's Colourburst Matte Balms! I only have one at the mo but after my spending ban I'm gonna pick up a couple more (I can't wait!). I really love this colour though it called Elusive and its so so wearable. I wear it to work and its not too dramatic but also looks fab for an evening out! They do cling to dry skin and my lips are not in the best condition, I probably should have scrubbed them before putting it on but hey I forgot! I cant wait to wear these all spring/summer!

<3 just <3
Anyway I hope you have enjoyed this post. I like the way I can fill you in on my current faves all in one post!

Look out for more!
