Getting to know me.. Liebster award...

So Charlene at Tartanmouth nominated me for a Liebster award.... YAY... but I didn't really know what one was... after a bit of Googling (what would we do without it!) I found out...

"The Liebster Award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers.... The meaning: Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome"

I don't do my blog for the followers, of which I have about 20, I do it for the therapy it gives me as a hobby, because I really love all things beauty (that's why I work in it!).

A lot of people had said "Oh Hannah why don't you get a blog, you would be great, you are always doing so much!" So after a lot of persuading I finally got one!

So lets get to know me, Just Hannah...

1. What do you think is the hardest thing about blogging?

I think I find finding the confidence to actually post pretty hard. I keep think what I'm writing is pants and know one will read it! Also I find learning the blogging ropes pretty hard like networking to increasing my followers but I think i'm getting the hang of it albeit very slowly!

2. Who was your embarrassing teenage crush?

Hmmm I can't think, I always loved Bradley from S Club 7 and I also loved Matt from Busted. I suppose they aren't really THAT embarrassing!

3. If you could change something about your past, would you?

Nope, not at all! the only thing would be letting my grandparents live longer to see me grow up into a 'lady' and to see what I have achieved.

4. Which three celebrities (dead or alive) would you like to go on a night out with?

Freddie Mercury because I love Queen's music,
Rochelle from The Saturdays because I think she is super cool and pretty,
Zac Efron so I can have a little boggie with him!

5. What's something that you wish you were better at?

I wish I had more confidence and that I believed in my self more. Also I'm Dyslexic so I really wish I was better at spelling as I feel it holds me back.

6. What's your favourite meal to cook?

I LOVE cooking and baking so anything really! if I had to chose it would be a chicken stir fry with home made egg fried rice and for pudding home made profiteroles! mmmmm!

7. What are the qualities you look for in a friend?

Kindness,
Fun,
Easy to talk to,
Someone I can be my true self around and that loves me for who I am.

8. What  would be your ideal job?

To be fair being a Beauty therapist is what I have wanted to be forever but never believed I could do it, but I have!
I'm now a senior therapist so maybe one day I will make my way up to a manager.
When I was little I always wanted to be a pop star or be on stage in a musical... I don't no where it came from because I cant sing or dance!

9. If you had to wear the same outfit every day, what would you pick?

Probs a simple pair of  skinny jeans and a top and a snuggle cardi and my converses!
 #Boring!

10. What is your favourite Disney film?

This Is so hard as I LOVE DISNEY... Probs will have to be The Lion King or Cinderella or Mary Poppins!

11. Would you rather go on a city break or a beach holiday?

This is also hard, I love both but if I had to choose I would pick hmmmm a city break as there will be a lot more to see and do. Plus I love just wandering round taking photos!

So it's done! Thank you to Charlene again!

I Nominate....

It's Thursday Tip Time...

So on this grey, wet and windy Thursday if you are feeling run down and tired or starting to feel a bit poorly I have a small treasure of information for you...

Have you ever had a SALT BATH

To be honest when I first heard this I thought 'yeah right, a bit of salt won't help me' but I have been proved wrong, for the first time in my life might I add ;) All you need to do is add a couple of handfuls of Dead Sea bath salts like these ones below to your bath and lye back and relax for atleast 20 min (not hard at all!)

While you lye there your body will be absorbing important minerals like magnesium, bromide and sulphur. Tiredness, illness and stress can sometimes be caused or made worst by a mineral inbalanced in the body, plus things like eczema and psoriasis too. All these things can be improved by the glorious salt bath!

If you don't believe me, TRY IT! I feel much more energized and healthy once having one, plus my skin feels so so soft! I'm not saying it will solve all your problems but it will help!!

I love Dead Sea Spa Magiks Salts! Buy Dead Sea Salts here !!

Benefit...It's Potent Eye Cream...

Since I was ill before Christmas with tonsillitis and glandular fever I have noticed my eyes being really heavy, puffy and had such dark circles especially when I wake up. I was using an eye cream before but not noticing much difference but then I remembered I had a mini version of Benefit's It's Potent Eye Cream that I had bought in a minis set before Christmas! So I cracked it open and started to use every morning and night.

Benefit say ..."Your eyes can't keep a secret...they're the first to show signs of age & stress" and mine really do, I was so stressed towards the end of last year and that's probably why I got ill so now its time to chill out a bit!

The eye cream really cool feeling on your skin and has a light texture. You only need a tiny amount so the pot will last for ages. My eyes instantly feel hydrated and a lot brighter once I have used It's Potent. At the moment I still have dark circles but I have noticed them being less obvious since I have been using this product which I am really pleased with! I team it with Benefits Erase Paste to cover the darkenss up!

I will keep you posted with how I'm getting on with It's Potent...

I Heart London...Brick Lane

On Sunday myself and Russ went up to Brick Lane in London. We are so lucky to only live under an hour-ish train ride away from London so we like to visit fairly often! I love the buzz of the city and there is so much to do up there (so much is free too)!

I had been recommended to go to Brick Lane last year by a friend who said I would love it but we always found other things to do and the idea fell by the way side. This Sunday we didn't have any plans so Russ suggested to have a wander in London and Brick Lane sprang straight to mind!

So off we trotted, it was a grey and rainy day but we were wrapped up and prepared. I'm not keen on rain at all, my 2nd to worst weather type (1st being snow!).

Once we were up in London we took the district line to Aldgate East and after a few wrong turns/wrong direction (lol) we found it! The market itself was under cover and in lots of different areas, which I was SO happy about because of the rain #hairproblems!

The 1st part of the market was buzzing, full of people and amazing food stalls. There was very kind of food imaginable, Chinese, Mexican, Greek, Dim Sum, Spanish, Caribbean, Italian I could go on and on... The colours and smells were amazing.

Towards the back of the 1st 'Hall' was a lot of clothes and jewellery (that kinda thing) it was a bit less busy here which I found nice as crowds can get to me! I spent a few minuets ooooo-ing and awwww-ing at every stall! A lot of the stalls were all in different places it was like a little 'rat run' with stalls hiding every where, there were lots of very vintage and arty kinda stuff, all so interesting and beautiful.

On the walk to the next 'hall' we saw some amazing graffiti. The time it must take people to create such amazing and detailed works of art is unbelievable!

Most of the Halls were pretty similar but still I loved looking around and also people watching the amazing kinds of different people there!

We had a lovely Chinese for lunch, rice, noddle's, salt and pepper chicken and honey chicken it was delicious and only £5 a pop! Also we bought some divine chocolate brownies (my fave) and some super rich millionaires shortbread (my 2nd fave)!  I didn't buy any other bits, nothing jumped straight out at me saying 'Buy me, BUY ME!!' (how restraint was I?!) but it was such a chilled nice day wandering around! We would defo visit again on a Sunday and I can imagine it being even more enjoyable when the weather is better.

I will fill you in on the next Hussell adventures soon! Hussell is our couple nickname made up by my AMAZING best buddy Kerry, I will tell you about her another time!

Bye for now

My 1st Hair Tutorial...

I'm a very simple kinda girl so don't worry my tutorials will not be complex in the slightest!

Up turned hair tutorial

This is such a quick, easy and pretty way of putting your hair up! It works best with mid length hair, I did it when my hair was longer but it didn't look as good so now I have had my hair trimmed I can do it again!

Here goes...

Start with your hair with a slight curl. It also works great with day old hair. Below is all you need!

Place your stretchy hair band over your hair.

Start at one side by your ear and tuck the ends under the hair band and secure with a pin. Then do the same on the other side.

Work your way around tucking and pinning the rest of your hair up.

Check in a mirror that there are no stray bits hanging out, if there are don't worry just pop more pins in!

Check from the front that the side bits are even and your fringe is how you like it and spray all over with hair spray.

And your done!

It can take a matter of minutes depending on how neat and messy you want it! I find if you want it a 'messier' look or to look like something you just thrown together it's harder which is a slight contradiction!

I love it and hope you do too plus it's nice to get a sparkly hair band out!

A Visit to Wahaca...

Myself and Russ had never been to Wahaca before but always wanted too. We visited the one in Bluewater shopping centre in Kent last week. The restaurant itself looks majorly cool, some of the tables were in VW camper vans!!! We had a normal table (bad times!) once we were seated we started to look at the menu. The food is all Mexican street food, you can get small plates to share of tapas style food or larger plates. We were spoilt for choice and didn't know what to pick! We ended up going for he Wahaca Selection as we figured it will give us a taste of everything!

We started with some amazing guacamole with some chips, it's was so fresh tasting and went down VERY WELL!

When our food arrived it look amazing, the presentation was great. The chicken taquitos, quesadilla, green rice and black beans where mega yummy and full of flavour, and omg the sweet potatoes were melt in your mouth yummy! We both loved pulled pork so were looking forward to the pulled pork tacos but we both found them very sweet tasting and rather spicy too!

I think next time we visit Wahaca we will know what to expect and what we know we like. We were looking at the menu debating what we would order next! So will defo visit again soon!

We ended our visit to Bluewater with a pit-stop at Millie's cookies, the new red velvet cookies are amazing! We had them once we got home with a yummy hot chocolate!

Hope your have had an exciting weekend!

So a Fringe it is...

So I was getting fed of my hair, I was ment to be getting it cut before christmas but I was poorly with tonsillitis :( My hair was getting sooooo long and out of shape so I took full advantage if feeling worlds better this week and had a trim!

I had an inch or so off the ends and an slight layer cut back in too. Then I took the plunge and got a heavish full fringe cut in!! I have had one before a few times but I was still a little nervous! I love it! It will take a few days to get use to and I can still clip it back if I'm feeling lazy or have a busy day at work!

I will probs grow it out again to a side fringe at the end of spring-time, I just feel a side fringe is more manageable in the summer what which pretty plaits etc! But at the mo I love it!

Hope your all having a fun weekend!

This Weeks Haul...

I have been shopping a few times this week (even though I'm ment to be saving) I got a few bargins though!

First me and Russ went to Bluewater on Monday evening, we didn't really need anything but we wanted to try out and have a meal at Wahaca (post coming soon). While I was ther I picked up this lovely over sized clutch bag,

I love how tan and dark blue will go with most things and how you can dress it up or down for the evenings. Plus the heart print is super cute, even better it was £19 reduced to £9.50! Had to be done!

Next I had a look in New look and got these lovely beige flat shoe boots, they are so comfy and can be worn with most things! They were only £8!

Today I had to go into Maidstone, to get my hair cut, so of course I took that as a chance to have a 'look around the shops'!!

Got this comfy and casual blue jumper in Primark it was reduced to £3! Perfect for lazy days off! Also I picked up some bobby pins and I thought I would try out this sparkly gold head band! It was only £3 so if I don't like it, it wasn't much!

Lastly I popped into Boots and Superdrug and picked up these beauty's!

Firstly I got a Sleek make up palette, I havnt used their eye shadows before (I love their blushers) so thought I should try! I picked up the vintage romance palette, the colours were lovely, I will post about these soon!

I picked up a cheapie natural collection green eye shadow, I use to have a really nice dark greedy shimmery eye shadow, I'm gonna give this one a try to see how it is!

I bought the bargin of the day, A BLUSHER FOR £1! I picked up a pinky peachy colour, I'm not to brave in blusher colours yet!

Lastly I finished my Boujour colour boast lip crayon collection! I picked up 'peach on the beach' and I LOVE IT! I tryed it as soon as I got home! It's a bright but not too bright pinky/coral shade and looks fab!

I hope you grabbed done bargins this week! Will post on my new hair cut later!

A Thursday Tip....

I only use face wipes to remove my eye make up and to get the bulk of my foundation and bronzer off, I just find the quick and easy! Then I cleanse, tone and moisturise of coruse!

My tip with face wipes are.... Always keep the packet upside down...

This keeps the wipes moist and fresh! RESULT!

Before I had this 'brainwave' I would use to find to top ones would be really dry and horrible and would drag my skin, not removing much make up. But when I got to the end of the packet they would be really wet!

I don't no where my brain picked this idea up but hey it works!

I will keep you posted with more 'brainwaves' and tips!

I Heart Lip Crayons...

I have been using Clinque Chubby Sticks for a few years now and when I saw that last summer Boujour released their Colour Boast lip crayon I really wanted to try them! I started off by buying the red one, red sunshine, as I had a friends hen do, and I loved it!

This orange one, summer punch is my current fave! They are super shinny and feel smooth on your lips. The colours are bold, bright and long lasting! I often use to get put off by the BRIGHT packaging of lip colours and stick to pinks and neutrals but I have some how embraced the bright colours!!

I really love lip crayons and getting quite a collection! I'm not really a fan of lip gloss, I find it way to sticky! I'm looking at trying some other brands, will keep you posted, do you have any recommendation?

Sunday Baking...

When Russ and myself are having a chilled out Sunday we like to do some baking. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved cooking, I would always help my Mum and Nan. As I have grown up I have taken to it even more and now it's become 'cool' there are a lot more ideas, equipment and recipes about!

Today I made chocolate shortbread cookies, here's the recipe,

You will need:
150g plain floor
3 tablespoons of cocoa power
Half teaspoon of baking power
100g of butter/margarine
50g caster sugar
A little water if needed

Method:
Pre heat oven to 170c or gas mark 3
Mix flour, cocoa power and baking powder in a mixing bowl.
Add margarine/butter and rub in with finger tips until it looks like bread crumbs.
Add the sugar and mix.
Gently knead into a dough, if its not coming together add a tiny bit of water.
Roll out into a floured surface until it s about half a cm thick.
Cut out into any shape of your choice!
Put the cookies onto a lined baking tray and put into the oven for 10-12mins
Cool on a wire rack

To be honest it was pretty easy and they were really yummy! I used a cookie press to 'decorate' them, i got it for christmas! It's great and so so simple, it has change-able stamps. Next time i use it i would press it into the cookie a little firmer as once they were baked the print wasn't as clear!

I alway say I can never understand why people can't cook?! I think it comes to me naturally but we all have a disaster once in a while! I love how the flour, butter, sugar, eggs etc can turn into something so yummy! It really is science in action!!!

I love to try different things so look out for more baking/cooking posts!

Hope your having a fab Sunday

Wagamama with a friend...

This evening me and my school friend Hayley had a meal and a catch up at the newly opened Wagamamas in Maidstone!

I love Wagamamas, such a different kind of resturant as we don't have that many noddle-ly kind if restaurants round here! I have been to Wagamamas quite a lot of times and always stick to the same sorta dish! The first time we went Russ ordered something and it came out in a massive bowl with a ladle! I think they should have photos along side the menu so you can sort know what to expect as the dishes are so different!!

I stuck to one if my usual dishes, Yaki Soba (what a suprise!)

It was so nice to eat yummy food and have a chit chat with my lovely friend! We have been friends since we were at secondary school and when we meet up once a month-ish! We are so similar so love having a gossip and talking out any problems we might have!

That's all got now

GBBO Sports Relief Specials

All my friends know I love baking and cooking and all my friends also know I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Great British Bake Off!

Soooo...I'm very excited this week around 8.00pm, shrieking and eeeekkking to some funny/fed up looks from my family... "But it's nearly bake off o'clock mum" "Bake Off count down... 14 minutes to go"

The four special episodes are for Sports Relief, so even better they are for charity.

To make the perfect celeb bake off add...
Half a cup of Ginny Weasley
500gs of Rochelle from the Saturdays
250ml of Jason Gardener
3ozs of Johnny Vaughen
A table spoon of Jamelia
And a small handful of Alistair McGowan.

Plus the lovely Mary Berry who I live my life wanting to be and Paul Hollywood the 'nasty' but nice judge! My claim to fame (well not fame but u know) is that Russ and I walked past Mary and her Husband at Gatwick airport! We had just got off the plane from Egypt and she had just got off one from somewhere else! Oh boy I was SO Excited! We didn't say anything to her I just did a werid excited smile at her, it was really late at night and we didn't want to draw unwanted attention to the baking legend in a rather busy airport!

One day I wish I would be good enough to be crowned star baker! So I shall keep practising my cakes for all my friends and family's enjoyment!

Sunday 12 January 2014

This Sunday We...

...Went for a lovely long walk along the beach in Whitstable! Russ and I love Whitstable it's about 25 mins from his house so we often pop along on a Sunday for lunch or just a wander!
People think I'm a little strange but I just LOVE the beach in the winter!!! I think it's just the fact you get wrapped up warm and it's so bracing and cold! It's such a different atmosphere than the summer so much quiter, lots of dog walkers but I think it's just as beautiful as the summerl!

From March till Christmas Whistable has a little market in some beach huts on the sea front. It wasn't open today but we have been quite a few times before, there are lots of pretty things for sale, homemade things and antiques. I often seem to always buy something!

Today we just had a wander along the beach, we walked quite a way but it didn't seem that long as we where snapping away with our camera and iPhones! Here are a few...

We ended our visit to Whitstable with a walk along the high street! There are so many pretty little gift and home shops I could of spent a fortune but I was very restrained and didn't buy anything! But I did enjoy a well deserved Costa hot chocolate! Mmmm so yummy! (Both the cakes are not mine, we had half each!)

We are home now and shattered from our walk! Don't u think the fresh air does that too you!.

I Heart Spa Find Calmit Serum...

One skin care product I couldn't live without is my Spa Find Calmit Serum!! If I could bath my skin in it, I really would!!

Spa Find is the skin care company I work for and I'm not being biased the products are amazing!  I will be raving on here about them so be prepared! The Calmit Serum is my favourite (if I had to pick just one) from there skin care ranges.

It's brilliant for a normal to combination skin, but especially for those who are concerned about signs of ageing! Even at 23 I use anti-aging products and I have done for a few years, this is so important, the younger you start the better! It contains Padina Pavonica which is a marine brown algae. It's in a lot of 'expensive' high-end brands (Calmit is ALOT CHEAPER!)  and it's seen as a real player in the battle for anti ageing!

I use this every night and sometimes in the morning under my moisturiser. I love the fact it's water based so it's not heavy at all on your skin. This is what always used to worry me about a serum, that it would make my skin even more oily etc but this really doesn't! Also what I love love love about Calmit Serum is that it will calm the angriest of spots!!! I use this product more when it's 'the time if the month' and I find it really helps!

It's £26 for 50ml and lasts me ages! You only need one pump into the palm of your hand and then pat and rub into your face and neck I then wait a minute or so then I apply my moisturiser or night cream!

I really love this product and I feel it has improved my skin dramatically! I would recommend it to anyone!

Well that's enough chit chat on for now! Sorry about my passion of skin care products I could talk about them all day!

Happy weekend

Just Hannah

It's booked... We are going to NEW YORK CITY!

I had to share this on here (as well as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!) that Russ and I have just booked our 1st holiday of 2014, to... New York!!!

I'm so excited about this already, god knows what I will be like just before we go!

I have been to New York before but Russ hasn't. I went with some friends in February 2011, just before I was 21, I loved it, it was such an amazing place so much to do and see. I think I only scratched the surface of New York last time! Russ is a keen film buff and loves America so we decided to go before we get any big commitments like a mortgage and we will have less disposable income!

We are going in the spring at the end of April so it should be much warmer and sunnier than when I went before! We had snow it was so pretty but so cold!!

We are compiling a list of things to do and see plus things we wanna buy! If you have any recommendations please comment below!

Soap and Glory- The Righteous Butter

Hi, it's Just Hannah here, Sorry I have been so rubbish at posting this week! I need to learn how to fit it into my everyday busy life!

So for Christmas I recieved quite a lot of Soap and Glory stuff! I really like the branding, it's pink and  girly what else could a girl want! I have tried bits and pieces of  their stuff  before and really liked it! I had never used the body butter and where had I been?! It's AMAZING!!

First of all the scent smells so yummy! It's sweet but not over powering. I first used it after a bath, you only need a small among per areas so a little bit goes along way (my two tubs from Christmas will last me ages wooo). The next thing I noticed was how quickly it sunk into my skin and it didn't feel sticky afterwards, that's one of my bug bares with body lotions etc I hate them feeling too heavy. The Righteous Butter fits the bill perfectly!

In the morning I woke up and could still smell the sweet yummy scent, result! And when I felt my skin it felt SO SOFT! I always think my skins not that soft and being a beauty therapist I touch a lot of skin!! This really offer everything I want from a body lotion/moisturiser. I think I would use the butter mostly at night and use a lotion in the morning if needed.

As I work as at therapist for a skin care company I felt like I was 'cheating' on them a bit! But they are releasing a body balm this year some time I think so I can see how theirs measures up to this beaut!

Well I'm off today so I will be thinking if some more blog ideas! I have got a little shopping trip planned and need to bake a cake so I better get on and get up!

Bye for now

This Sunday #001

It's just Hannah here, hope you are having a fab weekend,

So today, Sunday, Russ and I went to the cinema. We both have Cineworld Unlimited cards, which for about £15 a month you get to see as many films as you can! It's great because it's almost like you are going to see films for free (but your not!) Russ and I always try and see at least two films a month as you make your money back plus as we are saving for a deposit for a house it gives us something 'free' to do otherwise we would be out spending money! It also makes us more inclined to see films that you wouldn't normally see, like alternative films or kids films, we do that a lot (because we are big kids!).

Today we saw Last Vegas!! From the trailers we basically decided it was an older version of The Hangover and as I love The Hangover films I knew it was a must to see! The film starred Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, Michael Douglas and Kevin Kline. They play 4 childhood friends that meet up again to go on Billy's (Michael Douglas) stag do in Las Vegas! It was really funny although some if the funniest bits were in the trailer. My favourite character was Morgan Freeman's he played Archie, I just felt he was the most likeable and he sort of pulled the whole group of friends together.  There was an underlying plot that was on a sadder note which made the film even better! We also thought the film was left open for a sequel, I'm not sure if that will happen but I'm sure there would be a plot there!

Right I better get off now as it's nearly time for one of my Dad's legendary roast dinners!

One of my favourite christmas pressies...

My boyfriend, Russ got me this jumper after I saw it in Dorothy Perkins! I dropped a few hints then he told me to forget about it! (Hmm I wonder..?)

I'm not normally one for jumpers (I like layers and cardi's) but I just loved the little face of this chap!

It's not too thick and I wore a plain white vest top underneath. I love the fact the cream colour will go with anything especially jeans and it's so comfy for a lazy day at home.

Maybe this cute little find will persuade me to buy more jumpers?!

A Little About Me...

It's just Hannah here this is my second post wooo!  I'm gonna introduce myself,

I'm a 23 year old spa therapist who lives in Maidstone, Kent. I live with my Mum, Dad, sister Lucy and our family dog, a black Lab called Ruby. I have an amazing boyfriend of two years called Russ.

Everyone says "Your always doing something Hannah" but I just hate to be bored! Me and Russ are always planning our next adventure. Be it a day out or trying a new restaurant, a weekend away or holiday in the sun! Even on my days off I'm darting here there and everywhere! Sometimes I need to slow down and relax!

I'm a lover of all things girly, so I will feature a range of posts about fashion, hair and make up. Also I love cooking and especially baking so will share this as well!

I work in a spa in Goudhurst, Kent so I have a real passion for skin care products, so I will be telling you all about my favourites.

I'm a self confessed worrier and I stress about the tiniest thing! Another New Years resolution is to chill out a bit! But hey I wouldn't be Hannah if I didn't worry!

So now you know a bit about me and what my blog will be about I better get planning my next post!

Bye for now! X

New year, 1st blog!

Hi Just Hannah here,

For ages I have wanted my own blog, somewhere to talk about stuff that interests me, things I do and other pointless stuff!
So a new year and a new start and 2014 is my year to start a blog! I might be a little late jumping on the 'blog band wagon' but some of you might find it interesting!

So here goes, wish me luck!

Hannah x
