G is for Gel nails...

There is nothing better than perfectly painted nails...the one thing that bugs me is when they chip *sad face*  most of you have probably tried gels before, I love them for many reasons!

As a beauty therapist  I can't really have normal nail polish on as the constant use of oil, water and products it remove it and it doesn't last 5 mins!

Gels are fabulous..

...They stay beautifully shinny and neat

...They last for ages

...They dry straight away so know awkward waving around to dry!

These are my current gels that I had done today by the lovely Rebecca, OPI Gel Colour in Strawberry Margarita!

It took me forever to decide on the colour, this ones quite a summery colour but hey the sun has been out, all be it on and off for the past couple of days, it's my birthday so why not!

I love OPI gels they are my faves they are easy to apply as the therapist, they are long lasting and once removed professionally they leave the nails in a good condition.

I have hear a lot if people slag off gels for ruining their nails. In my opinion as long as they are removed properly they will be ok.  They might be a little drier and weaker but once filed down a bit and  nourished with some oil I find them ok. Some people have gels 24-7 but I like to have a set every month or so, partly for my nail condition, partly it's getting time at work and partly I like them to be for a special occasion like time off, holidays and birthdays! I tend not to wear polish too much despite my massive collection (I have SO many, more on that another day) as I basicly have to take it off after a day or so for work!

I use Gellux gel nails for family and friends at home as it's cheaper than OPI. There are so many colours to choose from and I really enjoy doing friends nails and having a gossip!

Do you have gels regularly or do you prefer polish?

D is for...

...Dry Shampoo! I could not live without this stuff!!

I know you are not meant to wash your hair everyday so I opt for every other day, as my hair is fairly oily I use dry shampoo for the 2nd day when I normally have my hair up.

I love Batiste dry shampoo it's quick, easy, cheap, effective and it smells so good so I think it ticks all boxes!

Now I have a full fringe I like to spray a little dry shampoo through making it more solid looking and not gappy.

Also another tip I have discovered is spraying dry shampoo through your hair before you go to bed. By doing this your hair has all night to freshen up and I feel it is easier to style in the mornings. Again I like to spray a bit more in if needed in the mornings but by doing it at night you get less of the badger look as well!

Do you use dry shampoo? What brand is your fave?

Sorry in the lack of posts recently, I have been a bit poorly! Hopefully on the mend now because it's my birthday on Sunday!!

My 10 min (ish) face...

Every girl has probably been in this situation...

Alarm goes off,
I'm still so tired,
Another 10 mins,
Do I really have to get up?
Another 5 mins,
7.39 Well u can't get up on an odd number,
7.40 get up NOW!!!!

Ok you get my picture! Well here is my 10 min face that I normally use in situations like this or as a basic face!

After cleansing and toning I moisturise and apply my eye cream.

1st stop in my whistle stop make up tour is my clinique anti-blemish foundation in fresh alabaster. I LOVE THIS FOUNDATION! I'm not mega spotty but I find this foundation has the perfect coverage for me as well as being matterfing and long lasting!

Next I apply my eye products, erase paste for my dark circles and then I use an eyeliner on my bottom lash line, I'm using a clinique one at the mo but to be honest I'm not that fussy with eye pencils! But I am fussy about mascara! I'm using Max-Factor Masterpiece MAX Mascara in black and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! It lasts for ages, it can be a bit stubborn to remove but if you use a good eye make up remover I don't find it a problem. I love the fact it gives me volume and length. I think mascara is more about the brush than anything and this brush is great!

I pencil on my brows now, I'm just using a number 17 pencil but really wanna try the soap and glory one!

Next I brush some bronzer over my forehead, cheeks, chin and neck. I'm currently using a fake bake bronzer, it's lasting for ages and is a really deep colour!

I then dust a little highlighter over the tops if my cheek bones. I like to use a power highlighter as they feel lighter on my skin and I have seen a lot of good reviews of the MUA highlighter. It was only 3 pound and it's fantastic!

I then apply some blusher to the apples if my cheeks. Friends say I have chubby cheeks, my nick name at one point was Thomas, after Thomas the tank engine!! I love Sleek blushers but I bought an MUA one the other day for £1!! I got 'Lolly' It's great!! I'm really impressed with their products and I will defo look into getting more if their range!

I lastly just as I leave the door (so not in the 10mins) apply a lip product, Today I wore a Clinique Chubby stick in Mighty Minosa.

This is my basic face for work! As I'm a therapist my day can be quite busy and I never really re-apply make up during the day, apart from lip products. For me it lasts most if the day (I suppose ur depends how busy I am!) and it's not too OTT for my job. Some days if I have more time I will use eye shadows, but if sleep is more important I go with this!

What make up products do you swear by and use everyday?

T is for...

So I have decided to do a sort of A-Z of beauty! I'm not doing any order at all to keep you on your toes so keep an eye out!

Today I'm starting with T
T...T...ttt.... Is for...TONER

From working as a Beauty Therapist I know that a lot of people forget this step in their cleansing routine! But it is in fact one of the more important ones and finding the right toner for you can improve your skin dramatically!

The thing is when we use water or products on our skin it's disrupts your skins pH balance. This can make our skin more oily and no one wants that, By toning it restores your skins pH balance quickly and effectively.

If you have a dry or sensitive skin use a toner with out alcohol in like Spa Find Renewed Radiance Toning spray.

If you have a more oily or combination skin use Spa Find Balanced Beauty Toner.

Toners are also really great to refresh your skin and to remove the studded last remaining scraps of make up! I think it's amazing after double cleansing your face that you can still have a little bits of make up still on! You can also use a light spritz of toner from a distance over your face to set your make up!

I really love the smell of Dermalogica's Multi-active toner and from the high street you cant go wrong with Simples Kind to skin toner.

Hope you enjoyed this post, I am looking forward to do more!

Our Valentines Day...

I hope you all have a great Valentines day how ever you spent it! We both worked in the day and I went over Russ's house after work for a lazy evening and home cooked meal! We usually spend our Valentines day at home as we find if we go out it's so busy and you have to wait for ages if you haven't booked anywhere. As we are both food and cooking lovers we had a yummy but quick and easy dinner!

Russ did main and cooked a rather yummy chicken dish. He scored a chicken breast and stuffed it with cheese then sprinkled it with a mix of crispy bacon, bread crumbs, sage and garlic. It was so good and we had mini extra crispy roast potatoes (my fave) and some posh broccoli!

As I had what felt like the longest day, the day before at work I didn't really have time to make a Hannah Special Pudding so.... I had bought Russ a chocolate fondue set for Valentines Day anyway and I decided to use that with lots of different things to dip in it! It was so good! My faves were strawberries, amaretti biscuits and of course MARSHMALLOWS mmmm!!

Along with the hot cross bun heart Russ had made for me!! I got some lovely presies as well!

I have been looking for a Infinity necklace for ages but couldn't find one the right length! I think I have a 'fat neck' so I always like to have at least a 18 inch chain but Russ found this one from Literary Emporium and its made even better with the quote from The Perks Of Being A Wall Flower which I love. The packaging was pretty cool too!  He also treated me to some lovely flat pearl earrings from Lisa Angel. I often wear simple earrings like these and they go great with the pearl bracelet Russ got me for Christmas!  Add in some Roses, He spoilt me rotten and he's defo a keeper lol!

I'm taking Russ for a date night soon to Wagamuma as his present. I know it's a bit boring but he is so hard to buy for and he loves a good Wagamuma's!

I do love Valentines Day but I think everyday should be a special day if your in love! A cute txt, a little pressie and a lovely meal now and again keeps your relationship happy and healthy. It shouldn't be just one day a year! Me and Russ have one 'proper' special day a month, along with every day I between... cringe! :)

I Heart my Konjac Sponge...

... Well that's a phase I never thought I would say!!!

HUH? I hear you say, until a few days before Christmas I had no idea what a Konjac sponge was either!!! But then my life changed... (This could totally be a movie couldn't it?)

Well in fact to your amazement  Konjac is a JAPANESE POTATOE! The Japanese have been using it in beauty treatments for years to gently exfoliate and cleanse the skin. It's bursting full of minerals and vitamins to help brighten and improve your skin. Plus it's sustainable so good for the environment as well (double woo!)

I'm using the Spa Find Red Velvet Konjac Sponge and have done since Christmas! I was luckily enough to try it out for a few months before it hit the shelves and all I can say is WOW! My skin has never looked or felt as good!

The sponge itself will gently but effectively exfoliate your skin while the red clay in it will rejuvenate. I feel it really works deep down and after one use I was amazed at how soft my face felt! I use it every morning and sometimes at night with a cleanser or face wash. It can even remove water-based make up.

My skin feels more refined, cleaner and looks brighter and more radiant so much so I could probably brave leaving the house with no make up on! Also I have found my liquid foundation sits SO much nicer on my skin once I have used the sponge before hand.

I recommend this sponge to anyone! It's so easy to fit into your cleansing routine  it's not another product to sit with the rest of the ones, if you get me, as you use it with something that you use already. It's quick, easy and efficient!  I think I will be using it for many years to come!

Omg I sound like I'm writing a speech for parliament! VOTE KONJAC SPONGE FOR PRIMINSTER ! But I suppose it proves how strongly I love it!

Also Happy Valentines day, that was my valentines related post! I better show my boyfriend some love and attention as it seems I'm having a love affair with a potato/sponge! If it wasn't for him (Russ not the sponge) encouraging me and helping me I would not have this little blog and my 100 followers on bloglovin so thank you baby I love you millions! (Cringe!)

I'm looking forward to a nice meal this evening cooked by the boy himself and a lovely little relax curled up together on the soft after a busy week! What are you up to this Valentines day?

Bye for now

Its All About The Eyes

Like everyone, I'm a bit little bit boring with eye shadow I love my Naked 2 pallet (really want 3) and I'm all up for trying new eye shadows on the market but I normally stick to the browns and neutral shades that they have for offer. I'm looking at getting some of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Cream Eye Shadows. While I was looking into the product I decided to take a look into what colour would suit me best, trying to take a step outside of my neutral box!

So I did a little bit if research for us all....

Most of the stuff I found was based on eye colour...
I have a small problem with this... I have different coloured eyes!

One brown and the other green with a bit of brown at the top! I take this as I can be greedy and choose colours from both categories!

Beautiful brown Eyes- Brown eyes can wear most colours! Woohoo! To brighten the eyes use a blue or green and to add warmth add brown-y orange colours.

I have started to wear more of dark green on my eyes, I have been looking for the right one with just the right amount of shimmer! At the mo I'm loving Avon Colour Trend Duo in Rain Forrest, it was pretty cheap too and seems to last for a long time on my eyes with not creasing etc. I used it with a dark brown in my crease from an old clinque quad.

I'm interested in trying burn orange/brown too!!!

Gorgeous Green Eyes- Plums and purples and deep dark reds are good for you as they are the completely different to the colour of your eyes. This will make your green eyes stand out brighter then ever before.

I have recently been using Bourjour's smoky eyes trio in Rose Vintage. I love the fact you get all three colours to create the look. These have more of a pinky tone but I will be looking for more plummy dark shades soon.

And for you...Baby Blue Eyes out there- Warmer tones will make your blue and grey eyes stand out even more! Go for Corals, browns and warm pinks

Do you use Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Cream Eye Shadows? What colours do you recommend?

Review- Mud, Mud, Marvelous Mud

So here I'm going to review a few more of my beloved Spa Find products! One for your hair and for your skin!

The 1st is Spa Find's Heavenly Hydration Hair and Body Mud. This product was once called scalp mud but has been new and improved with a much nicer allegen free fragrance! Before the product smelt well how can I put this...a little earthy... Although I like this, as it shows there hasn't been much added to the product it now smells much much nicer and more luxurious!

You can use it as a conditioner and as a more intensive hair mask. After using, my hair felt so much more hydrated and manageable and omg it felt so SOFT! I washed my hair then applied the product all over (but focus more on the length of my hair). I then twisted it up into a hair turban and left for about 20 mins while I had the face mask I will tell you about in a mo on!

It's a lovely product to use to bring the spa into your home, at £19.50 (click here) I will use it once or twice a week as a treat for my hair but as you only use a small amount of the product it will last quite along time.

While my hair mask was on I cleansed, exfoliated and then applied some serum to my face, I then applied Spa Finds Black Mud For Face and Body. This mask is great for any skin type apart from really sensitive skin as it's is very simulating.

The mask helps to increases circulation there for leaving you skin fresher and clearer. I love using it for a deep cleanse as the mask sets you really feel it working! After leaving on for about 20 mins  remove,I recommend showering this mask off as your flannel or face cloth would be ruined from the black colour! Once removed my skin instantly felt softer and more refined! The pot is £30  (click here) but it is pretty big and again you only need a small amount for your face, you can use this on your body as well for the same effect!

I will probably use this mask every couple of weeks as I have a few other face masks I love too! (For another post?!)

How often do you use face masks?

What are your go to ones?

My blog has turned a little more to skincare at the moment but it never was gonna be just a beauty blog! I know a lot about skincare probably because I'm a beauty therapist andI am enjoying sharing my knowledge!

I feel I'm still learning a lot about make up, yeah I can apply my own and it looks nice but is it really good enough?!

Just Hannah is about the whole of my life and what makes me...well... me!!

I hope you are enjoying my blog and the different kind of posts!

Bye for now...

Book Worm... Paige Toon

At school I hated reading, I think it was because I wasn't very good at it! I would only read Jacqueline Wilson books, (Bad Girls, Tracy Beaker, The Suitcase Kid...) as I grew up, I grew to love reading and now I'm a fan of Chic-Lit! Basically girly stories of love and life, the lives I dream I could have!

My favourite Author is Paige Toon!

Until I had read one of her books I had NEVER re-read a book! I treat the books as real-life, the way she writes the characters seem more like a friend than an imaginary person.

I came across her 1st book 'Lucy In The Sky' in a charity book shop, they are a great way to come across new books cheaply.  I was hooked and I couldn't put it down! Lucy is set in London and Australia, the way Paige describes the settings is like you are actually there seeing, watching and smelling it!

Her second and my personally fave book is 'Johnny Be Good'. I LOVE THIS BOOK and have read it more than 5 times I think! It's about an off the rails rock star Johnny Jefferson and his long suffering P.A Meg. You follow her journey of trying to look after/tame her rock star crush.

'Chasing Daisy' is her third book and my second fave! It's set on a formula one race track and centred on promos girl/waitress Daisy. It follows the team on an eventful formula one season and oh boy it's rather eventful!

'Pictures of Lilly' is set again in Oz and follows two love stories at different times that link together, it's a really lovely story and so sweet.

'Baby Be Mine' is the follow up of Johnny be good... I say know more...!

'One Perfect Summer' follows Alice in her dream summer as a teenager.. Then you meet up with her a few years on at uni and follow her ups and downs of life! It's set in Cambridge and as I said before her descriptions are like you are there yourself!

Last years book was 'The Longest Holiday' Laura is on a once in a lifetime holiday to Key West, with sun, sea, sand, very hot men and a man she wants to forget!

There have been a few eBooks In-between to follow on (One Perfect Christmas and Johnny's girl) and this January she released a young adult (teen) book called  'The Accidental Life Of Jessie Jefferson' following a character from the Johnny books... Need I say more! I have not read this one yet  but really looking forward to soon!

I really love how all the stories very distantly met up, even if it's a characters brothers ex-gf or someone's friend! You don't need to have read them in order but if you do you can see the small links if you read carefully!

Me and Russ are trying to make more time to read as we both love it but never have the time! I can read like three books on a holiday just sitting there in the sun with nothing to do!  So Instead of us sitting watching TV or sitting on our phones or iPad we are trying to take out one evening a week to read.

Do you have a favourite author? Do you read a lot at home or just on holiday?

Just Hannah xxxx

A Day Just About Me...

So today is my day off and I have it more or less too myself.. Plus I have no car! (I feel lost!) My little car has it's mot so I won't get it back till the evening! It's quite nice to have a completely free day as I am normally such a busy bee rushing around doing so much, so I have weirdly been looking forward to it! But I really don't no what I would do if I didn't drive it's crazy that people don't! I love being so independent, going where ever and when ever I want! And since I have been driving from when I was 17 I'm totally reliant on it plus the world truly is my oyster!

Anyway back to the post..

Below are some of the things I have been up too on a rare lazy day at home...

To start with I had a lovely lye in, which I pretty rare for me as I normally wake up early (early being 7.30ish, so not that early) even if I don't have work! Then I treated my self to a yummy boiled egg, one of my favourite breakfasts!

I lazed around in my PJ's for a bit checking Facebook, Instagram, Blogger, Bloglovin, Pinterest, emails etc etc etc! then I treated my skin to an Black Mud Face Mask from Spa Find and also I used there new formula Hair and Body mud as hair mask for my hair. I will be reviewing these products in a later post but I really love them my skin and hair feel amazing! While I was getting ready I watched a few make up videos on Youtube, then I did a shameless selfie as my hair felt so soft and shiney and looked great!

I then decided to bake some cookies! They are double chocolate chip cookies mmmm! They were pretty easy to make and they taste delicious! Crunchy on the outside and soft and chewing in the middle just how cookies are meant to taste! I think I could of even baked them for a little less but I was worried that they would be under done!

My sound track to the day was BBC Radio 1! I missed Grimmy as I had a lye in (not much missed!). I love Fearne Cotton so whilst getting ready and baking she was on and always plays such a good variety of music. Next was Scott Mills and I LOVE HIM, he's so funny and does the cringest of things!

I had a nice healthy lunch of chicken and cheese salad, while I watched a bit of the Great British Bake off! Then I chilled and read some of my new book my favourite author, Paige Toon! This is her new book called The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson, which is actually a teenage book. I bought it anyway, 1. because I love her writing and 2. it follows on one of the stories from one of her other books! (A Paige Toon post is in the process of being planned!)

Lastly I did some New York shopping research! I know I don't go until the end of April but I'm just seeing what's out there and comparing prices!

My car is back now hooray! But needs to go back in on Tuesday so another car-less day to come! But it has made an nice change to my normal days off. I think I might have a 'Me' day like this once a month as I have really enjoyed doing things for me no matter how small they are. I will be off later this evening over to Russ's for Chinese take away and a nice chilled evening.

Hope you are all having a good Friday whatever you are up too!

Just Hannah x

It's Tip Time Again..

Sorry I'm posting this a bit late! I have had a weird day at work and this horrible weather is making me feel rubbish! But anyway...

You all know I love Benefit's eye cream- It's Potent...see review here, Well here is a Thursday tip for you...

Always apply your eye product with your ring finger.

The skin around your eyes is VERY delicate so by using your ring ringer you apply it with less pressure then you would with any other finger! Therefore not bruising or dragging the skin and making fine lines and dark circles worst. You need to treat the skin around your eyes like how you would a baby rabbit, lots of care, attention, light movements and cuddles!

Also another tip (I'm on a roll now) is to never apply it too close to your eye and never on your eye lid. You need to apply it around the brow bone and above your cheek bone. Then product will then work its way toward the eye by your natural body heat.

Always start applying your eye product from the inner corner of your nose and outwards. This will act as a draining movement and therefore leave you with brighter looking eyes and decreases puffiness.

I really do love Benefit's It's Potent and now a few weeks on from my original review I have noticed even more differences, my eyes are much brighter and my dark circles have definitely faded! woohoo!

I'm off tomorrow so I will plan lots more blogs for you lovely lot!

Night night

February Wish List...

So here is my February wish list. I didn't do one of these in January as I was all new to this blogging lark, so here i am with my 1st wish list! These will mainly be things I would like to have (want!) but I may not buy them...but probably will

1.) Converse Oxford All Stars- £45- Schuh To start I need a new pair of converses. I was going to get a new pair for Christmas but i found other things i wanted more! I like these ones as the sole is not as thick as the standard ones and I find them a little bit more 'lady like' I have a pair was an even thinner sole that are light blue and pink and I love them. So i'm just deciding what colour of these beauty's i want! White (but my mum is putting me off a little because they will get grubby quicky) or mint green or in Schuh they do these amazball silver glittery ones! Watch this space!

2.) River Island Ditsy Floral Tea Dress- £25 I was in River Island the other day, its not normally a place I shop but we where in there for Russ to get some stuff so i decided to have a wander. I saw this straight away and knew it's something i would want/like! I love a little floral dress! You can dress it down for the evening and jazz it up a night time! I did pick it up to try on but i sort of talked myself out of it on my way round the shop! (I do that alot!) I think I might go back in and try it on, it is my birthday after all on the 2nd of March and I could do with a nice new dress...!

3.) Cath Kidston Provence Rose Tea Pot -£25  I have been lusting of this tea pot for ages! (such a funny thing to say!) This is for mine and Russ's 'Bottom Draw' which has turned in to quite a few boxes in the garage! I LOVE Cath Kidston! I have a few handbags and a purse and I'm looking at getting some bits for when we buy a house! I have picked some stuff up when they have had sales on but this beautiful tea pot never goes in the sale! I will bite the bullet and just buy it one day!

4.) Real Techniques Brushes-Boots/Superdrug  I'm so behind trends! I have seem these all over blogs so looking to get some! What I really want is a really good foundation brush to apply liquid foundation. Whats your opinion on real techniques? I have looked at the MAC brush  too i think it's number 187? But I will wait and get that when I go to New York! I might buy the real techniques one in the mean time and see what I think! If you have any other brush ideas for me please let me know!?

5.) Benefit The POREfessional: Agent Zero Shine- £23.50- Boots Anything to stop a shinny face i'm up for trying! This looks very clever and I have seen some good reviews! Hopefully I will get this with some birthday money!

So that's my February wish list! I'm trying to be good and watch my spending as we are saving etc but there is no harm in looking and wishing! Plus this is ideal for my family and friends to get birthday present ideas from! (hint, hint!)

Bye for now

My Life Saver Product...

I think we all have one product we always go to in a skin related emergency! Some people worry about dry and flakey skin others oiliness...My 'emergency' is normally one thing... Spots and blemishes! Being 23 I have grown out the majority of them but normally I have at least one or one that's just healing! Sometimes I can feel when one is erupting and it can feel huge!!

'Bad skin' can hit at any away I have seen a few clients coming to me with it in there 40's. But I'm going to let you into my secret weapon against spots...

Spa Find Perfect Purity Dermabalence Spot Treatment!

I have personally never used a spot cream/stick/'zapper' that concentrates on the spot itself that's is as good as this!

The product really dries out the spot or blemish and draws out the impurities. I really find that after using it they are less obvious and feel and look so much better, I also find it great in blocked pores or areas that are generally congested.

The smell of the product is not the best (but it's not too horrible!) but that's because it's made from sulphur, camphor and menthol oil... but hey it all natural and it means there are no added 'nasties' in there to make it smell good its all natural and from the earth!

The product it's self comes in a little bottle with a stopper, always keep the stopper in there because otherwise it will dry out. To use you just need to give it a good shake and remove the lid (and stopper), use a cotton bud and dip it into the bottle, then dab it on the spot! It even works on those pestey ones that just form a big lump and don't come to anything! I use the product before bed as I find it has better results because it has more time to work, but you can use it in the day and then brush off the excess product.

This miracle product is only £11.60 and the bottle lasts for ages (as you only use a little amount) Get it here!

Hope you are enjoying my blog, it's one month old today and I have reached 30 followers on Bloglovin!! Thank you so much for reading and enjoying my blog!
